LOCAL COORDINATOR MADAGASCAR

TANTELY RAJAONA

Since the summer 2015, our team in Fotadrevo has been supported by an energetic local coordinator, Tantely Rajaona. She lives and works in the Fotadrevo hospital, working as the point of contact for the surrounding villages, directing and overseeing projects, looking after doctors on placement, managing the money, problem solving and coordinating ambulance trips. In short, she is our chief person responsible on site.
After graduating from a sociology degree at the University of Antananarivo, Tantely worked for various public bodies and NGOs in different regions of Madagascar, where she managed and coordinated projects, particularly in the area of healthcare. Not least, she worked as a project coordinator for an NGO in Beroroha, a remote area in the south west of Madagascar which at times is only accessible by hovercraft. There she looked after project finance and administration, coordinated drinking water projects and placements of volunteer doctors, and when necessary organised transfers for patients to hospital or evacuations in complicated cases or for serious operations. We're thrilled to have Tantely with us as another 'driving force' on board!
