Free meals for patients – caring for the whole person
In Madagascar, patients are generally fed and cared for by their families. So that food shortages don't get in the way of treatment, we cover the cost of food for all in-patients in our partner hospitals.
Hospitalised patients in Madagascar are often looked after by their relatives, who also bring food and cook for their loved ones. However, this places great strain upon family finances, especially when a patient is in hospital for a long period of time. Some patients therefore stop treatment and leave prematurely - risking fatal consequences. To prevent such occurrences, we offer all patients in our partner hospitals free meals during their treatment.
For only 200€ per month, up to 20 patients can be fed, and two relatives per patient can be supplied with rice, meat and beans.
